Why Stoves are Green

Trees and plants absorb CO2 from the atmosphere as they grow; using wood for heating (or left to decay) will only return exactly as much CO2 to the atmosphere as they previously removed, giving a healthy natural balance.

However burning oil or natural gas releases CO2 reserves that have been locked away for millions of years. It’s these great (unbalanced) quantities of CO2 being released into the atmosphere that increase what is called the greenhouse effect. Wood also emits lower sulphur dioxide than heating with fossil fuels.
